The arrival of Canadiana Gran Prix marks another exciting milestone towards the launch of the Canadian Raceboat Hall of Fame. 


Canadiana Gran Prix was built in 1964 by Jerry Longtin of Quebec Canada. With a weight of 3500 lbs and a hull class that designates it in the Canadian Gran Prix class, Canadiana Gran Prix set a speed record in 1965 of 153.7 mph. It was powered by 392 Chrysler Hemi V8, alcohol engine and driven by Art Asbury.


Once a member of the Team Canadiana Racing boats, this hydroplane was extended by 3 feet during the mid 1960s in order to equip it with a jet engine. The purpose was to attempt winning the prestigious Harmsworth Trophy, with expectations of reaching speeds exceeding 200 mph. However, this endeavor did not succeed, resulting in the boat being restored to its original setup. Subsequently, it participated in numerous races as part of the Grand Prix class across North America for several years.
